Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Computing Lecturer to deliver exceptional teaching and learning across a range of computing modules. The successful candidate will contribute to the academic development of students in areas including programming, software development, databases, networking, and cybersecurity. The role involves designing, delivering, and assessing high-quality course content that meets the needs of students and aligns with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching across a variety of computing subjects, including but not limited to programming, software development, networking, databases, and cybersecurity
  • Design, update, and develop course materials to ensure alignment with current industry trends and technological advancements
  • Assess and evaluate student performance, providing timely and constructive feedback to support their academic progression
  • Offer academic and career guidance to students, fostering a supportive learning environment
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the curriculum through active involvement in its development and review
  • Maintain current knowledge of developments within the computing field to ensure course content remains relevant and up-to-date

Key Requirements

  • A degree in Computing or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed) or a commitment to obtaining one
  • Proven experience in teaching computing at a post-secondary level
  • Comprehensive subject knowledge in areas such as programming, software engineering, databases, networking, and cybersecurity
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to student success and academic excellence

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with industry-standard tools and technologies used in computing
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and online teaching methodologies
  • Relevant industry experience in computing-related roles
