YMCA Wirral is a charity committed to transforming lives. We provide essential services that offer hope, stability and opportunity to those facing homelessness, hardship and social isolation. Our core services include:

  • Accommodation – Safe and secure housing for young people experiencing homelessness or needing support.
  • Support & Advice – Practical guidance and life skills development to help individuals overcome personal challenges.
  • Training & Education – Programs designed to enhance employability and foster personal growth.
  • Volunteering – Opportunities for people to give back and strengthen the local community.

The Role

As Chief Executive, you will provide strategic leadership, ensuring YMCA Wirral continues to be a pillar of support and opportunity. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will be responsible for:

  • Setting and delivering an ambitious vision that aligns with our mission and values.
  • Driving sustainable growth, securing funding and developing partnerships to enhance our impact.
  • Leading and inspiring a dedicated team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and excellence.
  • Strengthening community engagement and advocating for the needs of vulnerable individuals.
  • Ensuring operational and financial stability, maintaining the highest standards of governance and compliance.
  • Overseeing the supported housing operations, ensuring services are delivered to the highest standards.

About You

We are looking for an inspiring, compassionate leader with:

  • A proven track record in senior leadership, ideally within the charity, housing or social impact sectors.
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate vision into action.
  • A passion for empowering individuals and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable communities.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders, funders and partners.
  • Financial and operational acumen, ensuring sustainability and growth.
  • Experience in performance management, strategic planning and governance.
  • A commitment to the Christian values and ethos of YMCA Wirral.
