Role Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Catering Lecturer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons in catering and hospitality, helping students develop both practical and theoretical knowledge to prepare them for careers in the food industry. If you have experience in catering and a passion for teaching, we would love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons covering various aspects of catering, including food preparation, kitchen management, food safety, and customer service.
  • Provide hands-on training in the kitchen environment, guiding students in cooking techniques, menu planning, and kitchen operations.
  • Support students in achieving their academic and professional goals, offering constructive feedback and personalised guidance.
  • Develop and update course materials and resources to ensure they are relevant to industry trends and best practices.
  • Track student progress, maintaining accurate records of attendance, assessments, and overall performance.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a supportive and dynamic learning environment.
  • Ensure all health, safety, and safeguarding procedures are followed in practical settings.

Key Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification in catering or hospitality (e.g., Level 3 in Professional Cookery, or equivalent).
  • A strong background in catering or hospitality, with professional industry experience.
  • Previous experience in teaching or training is desirable, though not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen management principles.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
