About

We are Daughters of Charity Services, a family of Vincentian charities across Great Britain dedicated to improving the lives of people experiencing the effects of poverty, as inspired by the life of St Vincent de Paul.

Despite our charities being highly diverse, they share a great history and a common commitment to a set of Vincentian values. Each of our front line charities were established by the Daughters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul – a worldwide network of Catholic women founded by St Vincent de Paul, who for centuries have dedicated their lives serving those living in poverty.

In the context of the ageing population of the Daughters, and consequently their reduced presence, Daughters of Charity Services was founded in 2012 by the Daughters in Great Britain to ensure the Vincentian charism and ethos – which has driven the charitable works of the Daughters across the world for almost 400 years – continues to live in practice within our charities, and that the voices of those living in poverty are heard.
