Are you a Housing Options Officer looking for work in Berkshire?
Morgan Hunt’s Public Sector and Government client based in Berkshire, is looking to recruit a Housing Options Officer to provide support throughout a busy period.
This assignment has been deemed inside of IR35.
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Housing Options Officer to join our dedicated team. This role involves providing housing advice, conducting homelessness assessments, and managing temporary accommodation placements. You will also be responsible for writing Section 184 decision letters and making legally compliant decisions under Parts 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to:
· Conduct detailed assessments of housing needs and applications, ensuring compliance with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
· Produce clear and accurate decision letters based on comprehensive investigations and adherence to legal requirements Section 184 Decision Letters.
· Arrange and oversee temporary housing placements, ensuring suitability and meeting statutory obligations.
· Work closely with the housing allocations team to prioritize and assign suitable long-term housing solutions.
· Provide tailored housing advice and guidance to individuals and families at risk of homelessness, empowering them to make informed decisions.
· Collaborate with internal departments, landlords, and external agencies to deliver effective housing solutions.
